The party decides that owning a palace on the Elemental plane of Fire sounds really cool but didn’t make a lot of sense for non-natives to try to maintain. They decide to work out a trade with a efreet merchant and trade the deed for the palace for a magical airship that they can take back to the material plane. They find out that the ship is actually made of living brass and has the soul of an ancient brass dragon named Kynathyria. In a weird quirk, Kynathyria has control of the living brass airship and is still alive. The group strikes a deal with the efreet merchant and make the trade and prepare to return home.
Kynathyria uses its ability to plane shift and returns them to a location just outside the city of Katapesh. They stop and drop Rayhan off and find out how long they have been gone and what has happened since they have been out of touch. They learn that Kelmarane had fallen to Jhavhul and have had control over it for a little while. No word of survivors has come in from Kelmarane. The group gets a communication from the Pactmasters of Katapesh to see if they will liberate Kelmarane once again. With the added incentive of finding out what happened to the people they have known as well as Almah.
They head out toward Kelmarane and receive a message from Nefeshti asking them for their help. They agree to meet her back where it all started for them, at the old monastery outside Kelmarane. They meet up with Nefeshti and make plans on how to free Kelmarane from Jhavhul’s troops. They find out that Jhavhul has returned to the House of the Beast and is keeping Kelmarane under his thumb. They scout the town out and find that there is a large brass structure that is where the battle arena was and that efreets and other creatures are staying in town.
The group works out a plan too invade the tower in the center of town and try to take out the leaders while Nefeshti and her troops make a distraction to get most of the efreets out of the town. The plan seems to work out and they are able to sneak break into the tower. While a battle rages outside of the town, the group fights the leaders, Davashuum (an ex-templar) and the Clockwork general. They easily take them all out and claim the tower and are able to free up the town. Next is the House of the Beast.
What will they find there and what kind of defenses will Jhavhul have in store for them? Will they be in time to stop jhavhul’s plans to raise Xotani?
