Garaval brings a group of people to help Almah with trying to free Kelmarane from gnoll occupation. They arrive just in time to see one of the wagons in camp go up in flames, claiming the camps fortuneteller. The group helps put the fire out and makes a good first impression with most of the existing members of the camp.
After the fire is put out Almah charges them with finding out how the fire started. The group starts looking over the wreckage and talking to some of the other members of the camp. Nothing really out of the ordinary is found except that Dashki is spotted watching the party. When he is confronted, he pleads his innocence. The party finds that one of the goats is missing and the camel driver seems distraught over it. While checking around camp for tracks they find a set of tracks leading off into the desert hills and there appear to be other tracks with the goat. Almah asks them to track the goat and find out what took it.
The party heads out into the night and hear the bleating of the goat coming from a large cactus patch. They proceed into the cactus and start stumbling into the cactus spines when they shouldn’t be. They find the goat tied up in a small clearing and when they go to untie it they are attacked but a tiny dog like humonoid, a Pugwampi. They bring the corpse back to camp to show Almah as this creature has harrow cards from the fortuneteller’s wagon. They believe the unluck aura could have caused the fire.
Almah decides to move the camp up to an old monastery that used to belong to Sarenrae. She asks the group to investigate the monastery to see if they can make sure it is clear for it to be used as a base of operations. The group moves into the monastery that they find was dedicated to Saint Vardishal, who they find was a member of a group called the Templars of the Five Winds. They also find that some of the Pugwampi have infected the old monastery as well as a few other creatures. They have started clearing out the monastery and have been successful so far.
What other mysteries will the group uncover inside this old structure? Will the party find something inside the monastery that they can’t deal with?
