The group continues the exploration of Bayt Al-Bazan. They go to explore the area that the Sepid Div controls and find it and a group of Salamanders in one of the rooms. After a decent fight with the salamanders and the Div, the group proves to be up to the challenge and defeats the group. While exploring the area they find something very interesting, the deed to Bayt Al-Bazan. They pocket this for now as they still have to figure out how to get out of the palace.
Going up to the next level of the palace, the party discovers a large pyramid with a temple to Ymeri at the top of it. Going up to the top of it, they find a secret entrance to an area of the temple that has a globe of pure fire in it. Is this the Impossible Eye that they are looking for? Apparently this object is Ymeri’s Orb and contains pure fire. They put this object away for now and continue their investigation of the palace.
The party continues exploring and finds a lot of interesting rooms including a room that appears to have the remains of Al-hassan. He appears to have died in a magical backlash of some sort. They finally find their way to the tower that tops the palace and discover a distortion in the air, centered in the top of the tower. They decide to try using Ymeri’s Orb and as it gets closer to the distortion, the Orb starts to flare with life. As the Orb is put into the distortion, a room appears in the distortion with the only contents being a gilded hand mirror. The Impossible Eye has finally been found.
As they pick up the Impossible Eye, the face of the strange Garundi man (who has been identified as being a Nephilim) appears in the mirror. The man in the mirror, named Ezer Hazzebaim, tells the group that they have to release him from the mirror and then he can help them get out of Bayt Al-Bazan. They group debates for a little bit with Ezer stating that time is drawing short and they need to hurry. They finally decide to release Ezer and the Nephilim appears in the room and quickly demands the Impossible Eye. The group starts to debate with Ezer on why they need to rush and Ezer finally gets impatient and attacks.
As the battle with Ezer commences, the group hears a roar and sees that the red dragon that they had been seeing outside of the palace is on its way straight to the tower. The dragon, Aberzjerax arrives at the tower and calls out to Ezer, who had disappeared while in the middle of the fight. The group is undecided on what to do with the dragon but when Ezer reappears, they quickly side with the Aberzjerax and defeat Ezer. As Ezer is defeated, Aberzjerax demands the Impossible Eye from the party. This is the second creature that has demanded the Impossible Eye in the last few minutes. The group talks with the dragon, who is obviously not happy about being obeyed, and are told that the Eye belongs to the Grand Sultan and was stolen by Ezer. They group decides to believe Aberzjerax and surrenders the Impossible Eye.
Aberzjerax quickly flies off and disappers into the distance. The group loots the area and after a few minutes they feel the curse lifted form Bayt Al-Bazan. The last of the palaces residents flee into the city leaving the group alone. Now they have to decide what they are going to do. They have loot to sell and they are in the City of Brass. Time to explore the city a bit and sell items.
What are they going to do now? With the deed to the palace, what are they going to do with it? What is Jhavhul doing back in Katapesh?
