The group continues attempting to clear the monastery. They dig a tunnel thru the brush in the courtyard and find the Geier’s nest and remove the eggs from the nest and give them to Almah for safe keeping. The party goes back into the monastery to try to clear the rest and decide to head to the chapel. As they arrive at the chapel, Duran hears a noise in the room. They quickly realize that Pugwampi are living in the balcony area.
They engage the Pugwampi, with Ibn Kahn heading up the ladder to the balcony area to engage the Pugwampi. Fiora starts firing at the Pugwampi from outside the room, while the rest of the group starts moving in. Sahlira moves in to try to throw a dagger at the rope holding the gnoll head chandelier and misses it. Sahlira stars becoming a pin cushion for the arrows of the Pugwampi until Ibn Kahn attracts their attention to him after he reaches the balcony. Fiora shoots the rope attached tot eh chandelier and hits it cleanly, dropping the chandelier with the Pugwampi in it. Ibn Kahn tries to follow the Pugwampi out onto the rafters but quickly finds out that the beams are rotten by moving out onto one and having it snap under his weight dropping him into the pews below. Shurooq moves out to heal up Ibn Kahn while Sahlira moves to the ladder to get closer to the Pugwampi.
The party decides that they need to regroup to figure out a better way of handling the Pugwampi’s infesting the balcony area. They start moving back out while Fiora keeps shooting at the Pugwampi. Once the party gets out of the chapel, the Pugwampi let out a cheer and back away from the edges of the balcony. The group starts taunting the Pugwampi and tempting them with various things and attracting a Pugwampi to the edge to be shot off the balcony. They get a few more of them before the Pugwampi finally get wise and disappear.
The party notices movement up in the rafters and Fiora moves right underneath the nesting area and releases a Burning Hands spell up into the fabric and feels a connection to Sarenrae as she does so. The resulting fire wipes out the nest area and Pugwampi bodies fall out of the nest to the ground, still on fire. King Mokknokk also falls out of the rafters but picks himself back up again and starts attacking the party. With only King Mokknokk left and with him being on the ground, the party makes quick work of him.
With the Pugwampi defeated, the ground floor of the monastery is now clear but the party decides to head back to the wagons to heal up and rest a bit. They head back into the monastery after resting up and head downstairs to clear out the lower level.
The party heads down the stairs to the lower level and finds the laboratory. The party moves in slowly and the Slime Mold erupts out of the beakers and start to attack the party. Duran steps up and stabs the Slime Mold. As his spear hits the Slime Mold, an explosion of light and sound erupt from the impact and blinds the party. They hear the sounds of two armies coming together and a violent wind circles around them tearing the Slime Mold to shreads. After their vision clears they all feel a little different but Ibn Kahn gets a feeling that he lost something and that he now realized where he lost it. He tells the rest of the group that he is heading back upstairs and leaves them wondering what has overcome him.
The party follows Ibn Kahn up to the courtyard where he starts digging. Sahlira starts helping him dig but without proper gear they are not making much headway. Fiora and Shurooq head back to the wagons to get shovels and return with them and beverages so they can sit down and watch the digging. With the shovels, the work doesn’t take as long as it would have and Ibn Kahn gets down to something metallic. He pulls a nice looking Falchion out of the dirt and holds it over his head with the words “I found it.”. The Falchion starts to glow and turns into a Nodachi and then rays of light fly off it to strike the weapons of the rest of the group. The party quickly realizes that their individual weapons have become magical with Shurooq finding a staff sitting next to her.
The party goes back downstairs and searches the rest of the undercrypt. They make short work of the rest of the area and Almah starts moving the groups into the monastery. The caravan guards start setting up defenses while Almah tells the party that she wants them to start checking out Kelmarane but not to assault it as the forces there are probably to powerful for them. The group agrees and decides to head out so they can get around to the other side of Kalmarane to start watching the town.
The party gets around to the other side and starts watching Kelmarane. They see various patrols and they see where a patrol takes what they believe to be chunks of meat over to what looks like an abandoned building and toss the meat into the building. They also notice a patrol take a goat over to the old mill on the north east side of town and emerge from the mill without the goat. They decide to head over to the Mill, under cover of night, to see why the goat was taken over there. Once they get over to that part of town they decide to check the old Tannery out.
Duran and Sahlira head over to the entrance to the Tannery while the rest of the group stays back a bit. Duran smells something coming from the Tannery but it doesn’t smell like the Tannery is in regular operation. Duran is a little surprised to find that the door to the Tannery doesn’t appear to have been used in some time. He tries to open it but it doesn’t open far before it lets out a noise. Duran stops and hears noises coming from inside the building but they quick stop. Duran and Sahlira hold still and the noise inside the building resumes. Now that they can see a little into the building they notice a hole in the roof and Sahlira decides to climb up the hole and peek in to see what is in the building.
Sahlira is able to quietly get up to the roof and peeks into the room to see a Harpy messing around with various cauldrons. She decides to jump down into the room and engage the Harpy. With her new ring of feather falling she drops down into the room without any issues and throws one of her blades at the Harpy. Sahlira rolls a critical hit against the Hapry, dazing her for a round while Duran runs in to the room to assist his sister. The rest of the group sees Duran charge into the building and hear the Harpy yell out, so they start running over to the entrance of the building to help out. The group gets into the building before the Harpy can react and she starts trying to tell them that she isn’t an enemy.
This confuses the group, but they decide to let the Harpy talk but not give her any room to move. She introduces herself as Undrella, and tells the group that if they can do her a favor that she will help them out. She tells them that she doesn’t like the new leader of the gnolls now as, since his visit thru the magical barrier under the church, he as been cruel to her. She asks them to kill a snake in a nearby building and bring the head back to her and she will assist them with defeating the leader of the gnolls. The group stops to think about this.
Will the group agree to ally with Undrella? What other discoveries will they uncover while they attempt to liberate Kelmarane?
